On April 6, 2007, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed a judgment entered in March 2006 in the litigation captioned O2 Micro International Limited v. Monolithic Power Systems, Inc., Nos. CV-00-4071 and CV-01-3995 (N.D. Cal.), on appeal as Nos. 2006-1338 & -1377 (Fed. Cir.). The Federal Circuit upheld the district courts decision to vacate a jurys award to O2 Micro of $12 million in unjust enrichment damages for trade secret misappropriation and to replace that award with a significantly reduced royalty. As affirmed, the judgment against MPS is for approximately $3.36 million, which includes interest to date. In addition, the Federal Circuit affirmed the jury's verdict rejecting patent claims that MPS had brought against O2 Micro.
