It is hard to believe but another Friday is upon us and we are well into integration planning. This week a number of integration-related calls and meetings took place and Gianluca and Lane had the opportunity to meet with counterparts at Stryker. As we move closer to Day 1 and integration planning picks up we continue to value the input from each of you as we want to include the best ideas and proposals in the newly combined Stryker-K2M upon the closing of the deal.

Speaking of inclusion I thought it would be interesting to share a little about Stryker’s goal of creating a diverse and inclusive culture and their Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo stated “I am a huge believer in diversity and inclusion because it is the right way to treat people. It leads to better business results and most importantly it will help us achieve our mission of making healthcare better.” This belief in the value of differences in people and perspectives aligns well with K2M’s Core Values.

To further reinforce the development of a diverse and inclusive culture Stryker’s global employees have developed Employee Resource Groups. These employee driven groups act as a strategic partner to the business by promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion. The ERG’s advance the understanding and inclusion of employees with a common background, set of interests and/or goals. A few ERG examples include: Stryker’s Women’s Network, Stryker’s African American Network, and Stryker’s Allies for Equality.
