Item 8.01.		Other Events.

On May 12, 2011, Calgon Carbon Corporation (the “Company”) announced that Ohio Third Frontier awarded the Company a $1,350,000 grant from its Energy Program for the development and commercialization of advanced activated carbons for energy storage. The project will focus on developing a domestic source of activated carbons for a broad range of ultracapacitor storage applications.

The Company’s press release with respect to this announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
