Gangster Legend is the first GameFi project in RichCity’s ecosystem. As a real Web3.0 native, RichCity is aiming to embrace the Crypto ethos through DAO governance, X-to-earn, and Defi. Using games as a pattern of manifestation, Gangster Legend is the first step of RichCity’s move to the new Era. Hoping to let the players experience a sense of honor while battling and earning.
The story of Gangster Legend takes place in the 1980s, paying homage to the gangster and criminal-oriented shows & games that are popular within different mediums of entertainment. The criminals and anti-heroes provided us with our inspiration, the bold sense of freedom and the adventurous nature of these characters underpins the theme of Gangster Legend.
Gangsters, SWAT, and a new female character are the leading roles. In the 1.0 version of the game, players fought individually and leveled up to battle in teams for the 2.0. The 2.0 upgrade not only brings more fun to the brand but also added a social networking part to the game. This enables Gangster Legend to not only be a truly jaw-dropping game, but unique through its incorporation of social mechanisms into its game structure!
There are two forms of gangster NFTs. The first, being standard Gangsters, which are lvl 1-3. The second form, being Gangster Leads, which are lvl 4-5 NFTs. Each level of the NFT requires progressively more $CASH tokens to upgrade to the next level, and at the higher level of the NFT, it becomes more proficient at robbing the bank, meaning more profit it obtains from its criminal escapades.
As proficient as the gangster may be in robbing the bank, their adversaries are equally as skilled and justice rains down on those who think their criminal wrongdoings draw no attention. SWAT members are here to stop them, but not for any noble reason. They see how rich the gangsters are getting from their criminal wrongdoings, and they too want a slice of that juicy pie the gangster enjoy. If the gangsters want to get rich, they need to bribe their way into doing so, and the SWATs are not honorable enough to stop the gangsters if their reward for turning a blind eye is a juicy bribe, or “income” as they like to refer to it as. There are 3 different levels of the swat members, with each progressive level getting a higher share of “income” accordingly.
As the gangsters and SWAT play their silly game of robbing and extorting one another, Eva finds better ways to make her wealth. The Eva NFT is the new female character for the game, with 5 levels in total, and she oversees the inheritance of the city. Unlike the rough males, Eva has her own way of making profits, but at a far greater cost, as Eva requires $DRUG in order to upgrade and level up.
Humans are social beings. No matter how different they are from each other, they would like to group up and find where they belong in the new world. Gangs are like family you choose for yourself. You decide which one you like, and which one would profit you the most. You can always change to other gangs when things don’t work out, or there is another gang that offers bigger interests.
The leader of a gang, who owns the Gang NFT, would need to be influential and charming enough to attract more people to join their gang. In the meanwhile, the leader needs to be smart enough to make sure the gang’s profit meets the benefit of its members, otherwise, people might leave at any time. Great responsibility comes with great power. The Gang NFT would get 10% out of what the whole Gang gets.
Even Gangs in real life do not just rob and fight anymore. They have evolved to run their business like “normal” companies. They trade and cooperate, and do business that covers different industries. A well-established Gang itself is a successful company. Maybe players of Gangster Legend would just interact with each other in the game in the beginning, but after a certain time of teaming up and communicating, you would never know what kind of chemistry would happen.
As there is a supply limit of only 10 Gang NFTs in total, this limited supply enables an appropriate sense of scale to the game, as well as a strong sense of community for those who lead one of the few Gangs. Many of the candidates for creating and managing a Gang are influencers in the Crypto industry, and the game offers the function of letting them connect the Gang NFT with their Twitter account to better expand their influence.
All the places robbed in the RichCity, all have one thing in common, LAND. LAND is the fundamental NFT in RichCity, which takes a significant role. LAND NFTs are very practical and scarce due to their unique role in the RichCity ecosystem. LAND NFTs will play a pivotal part in future RichCity games and will act as the foundation of the ecosystem, as without land, nothing can be built.
Legends (1.0 version)
Gangster NFTs, ranging from levels 1-to 3, can receive different daily rewards from staking, and the rewards will accumulate through the time of staking until all rewards are paid out.
90% of the profits the normal gangsters (levels 1-3) get are going to the gangster leads (levels 4-5) and SWATs as the protection racket. It is the main source of how Gangster Lead and SWAT NFTs profit. Meanwhile, SWATs take 30% out of what Gangster leads own, as well as the income they normally receive.
Note: Details about how the legend rules work are listed in the Whitepaper. (Eva is not applicable for legend)
Gang Rush (2.0 version)
All applicants who meet the requirement would join the auction to mint the Gang NFTs. However, success is not determined by just being a Gang, but rather through the support of other players who can choose to join whatever gang they wish. The competition between gangs is fierce as each gang vies for top rank. Gangs will be ranked every day, and rewards will be distributed according to the Gangs’ ranking.
The higher the rank of the Gang is, the more percentage of the rewards the Gang would receive. The person who owns the Gang NFT gets 10% of the total profit earned by the Gang. Gang NFTs can be traded & sold on secondary NFT markets, as well as given away to other users.
For players who don’t own a Gang NFT, their participation is as important as those who do hold a Gang NFT. If a Gang has no members, is it really a Gang? All assets staked within the chosen gang would contribute to the Gang’s asset pool. How much a player would profit is determined by the relative weight coefficient.
This means, that choosing the strongest team is not always the best option, because you might not be that important if everyone else is too strong. Weighing up the risks, rewards, and opportunities is pivotal for a player’s success, as careful decisions will need to be made to the player’s profits the most!
Gangs can attack other Gangs, as well as create defensive fortifications in order to defend against incoming attacks from rival Gangs, and to do so, they require a certain amount of $DRUG tokens staked in the Gang. Every attack will reduce the opposing gang’s score by 4%, and each fortification could withstand an attack. Using the attack permits and defensive fortifications properly would greatly enhance your chances of maintaining your current rank or increasing your Gang’s rank by lowering the rank of other Gangs.
Strategic nature of Gang Rush
Every NFT character has its own way of making a profit, especially after people group up as different Gangs. It is not enough to take care of one’s individual benefit, one must look out for the team as well. It is about both honor and interests. A lone ranger just does not work anymore, stronger Gang brings more rewards for the team. However, being a small fish in a big pond is probably not a good thing.
Meanwhile, the attack permits and defensive fortifications make more possibilities to the ranking. Owning more assets does not mean one would have the discourse hegemony, nor assure higher ranking for the team. How to choose the best Gang for oneself and whether one should put one’s own interests before the team’s are the things everyone needs to think about carefully.
Sophisticated strategic plans, excellent communication, and leadership skills will all be great weapons.
Our vision personified in Gangster Legend 2.0
The goal that guides RichCity is one of creating an entire ecosystem that aims to include all individuals, rather than just solely focusing on the creation of a game/protocol and leaving it at that.
The developing RichCity ecosystem already includes its own education and financial elements, designed to educate and draw in new & existing participants of the Web3.0 experience. Gangs are not just a gameplay element within Gangster Legend 2.0, but rather a way to influence the Web3.0 industry. This is achieved by experimenting with the idea of DAOs and a social experience that intends to create communities formed through being a part of these DAOs, or as we call them, Gangs.
Gangs, a social experiment about DAOs
The team found out that a Gang is so much like a DAO while developing the game.
There are normally three necessary elements in a DAO:
- An organizational goal and culture that could unite strangers to reach a consensus (missions, visions, values)
- A clear incentive mechanism and governance that could encourage and unite strangers, and built on-chain through blockchain technology
- Tokens that associate with all participants’ interests as incentives
Gangster Legend has covered all of the above for its players. Even if it is just a tentative idea, it is more than enough to experiment with how DAO actually works for lots of people who are interested in DAO but haven’t found the one that fits them yet. It’s never just the perfect ideas that form a successful DAO. A workable DAO has to be established through every step of implementation to make those beautiful ideas come true.
People will face a variety of different problems through the experiment:
They would discover, that even though everyone seemed to have the same goals (profit maximization)， it is almost impossible to make everyone happy with one decision since each person would have their own understanding and charade. There would always be full of surprises since it is a decentralized autonomous organization and no one could force anyone to do anything;
They would realize, that the clear incentive mechanism might not be so easy to pass on to everyone nor that alluring. Maybe the team needs to create more new incentives, or they just need to work harder on making sure everyone could take what they want from the current one;
They might be disappointed as the technology now is far away from enough to support a real decentralized governance organization. To better work together needs each member to be more active, have initiative, and communicate effectively with one another. It relies on people’s mutual trust, and passion for the same goal.
Whatever the limitations may be and whatever the difficulties individuals face when creating a fully functioning DAO, this will not stop people from trying as the DAO is not just an idea, but the true power of Web3.0. Every Gang in the game Gangster Legend could be a DAO, players could implement their ideas on DAO here. If one wants to, one could be the rule maker, strategist, business development expert, etc.
There are 10 DAOs (Gangs) in total, allowing players to move to another if one didn’t work, and if one succeeds, it could be the next blue chip in Web3.0. The worst-case scenario is that none of them reached your expectation in the end, you would have all the experiences gained through participating in this experiment, as well as acquire the rewards & enjoyment the game provided.
