Keep 'Remember the Alamo' in Texas

The domain name RememberTheAlamo.com is for sale

WELLINGTON, Fla. - April 24, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

Surprisingly, the internet domain name RememberTheAlamo.com is not owned by The Alamo shrine, by a San Antonio native, or even by a Texas resident. Instead, it has been owned for more than 15 years by Michael Deutsch, a Florida resident and retired securities trader. Now he is offering the domain name for sale.

Deutsch’s $100,000 asking price is less than 7 cents apiece for everyone in San Antonio and way less than a penny apiece for everyone in Texas. “I refuse to believe the proud people of Texas are content that Alamo.com is owned by a Missouri-based car rental company and that TheAlamo.com is owned by a Nevada-based chain of truck stops and casinos.  Here’s their chance to bring the iconic RememberTheAlamo.com name home to Texas where it rightfully belongs,” he said.

For a limited time before starting a GoFundMe campaign for the domain, Deutsch is making RememberTheAlamo.com available for purchase by a single individual or business. “Some folks spend millions having buildings named after themselves.  But, for far less, a successful person or business could forever be known as the one who brought RememberTheAlamo.com back to Texas, its rightful home. And, the buyer of the domain could possibly get a tax deduction for the good deed,” Deutsch explained.

“For years, I’ve read about the importance of The Alamo in Texas history. And, as a child many years ago, I visited The Alamo and wore my own coonskin cap. Now, I’m delighted to read of the Alamo Master Plan and the Alamo Plaza Project. Hopefully, RememberTheAlamo.com will soon be a part of those developments,” he added.
