Chicago, IL – Ohio Governor, John Kasich, has signed into law Senate Bill 255 to establish the Ohio Home Inspection Licensing Board.
The announcement, made on January 4th, 2019, will ensure the state of Ohio develops, implements, and enforces licensing requirements for home inspectors. These licensing requirements must include 80 hours of online or classroom training.
“We expect that the formal licensing of home inspectors will begin in late 2019, or early 2020,” says Chuck Pulaski, Operations Manager of Inspection Certification Associates (ICA). “This is a great advancement in home inspections for the state of Ohio and its residents.”
While current home inspectors in the state of Ohio are waiting for the Board to be established, individuals can get ahead of the curve by taking a home inspection licensing course offered by the Inspection Certification Associates.
The course, called the Ohio Home Inspection Licensing program, will fully prepare students to become highly sought after certified home inspectors in the state of Ohio With their up-to-date, engaging, and reputable course content, students will gain the confidence and licensing they need to excel in the industry.
In addition to gaining access to their relevant course content, students will also be fully prepared for the National Home Inspectors Exam, which all Ohio home inspectors will eventually need to take, and pass. Included in the course is a 200 page online study guide and 700 practice questions specific to the National Home Inspectors Exam.
“Though it’s certainly not mandatory for home inspectors to be certified right away, I highly recommend individuals take our course so they can get ahead of the curve in terms of certification, while continuing to do the work they do,” states Pulaski. “When the Ohio licensing is established and the board begins accepting licensing applications, current home inspectors won’t have to scramble to get the certifications they need.”
