Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting sector, announced the release of a fold-over five-stage Megatower® with a 20 kW genset that can be elevated to between 15 and 50 feet. This unit features a rotating boom that offers 360˚ of rotation and a removable mast head for easy storage. This telescoping light tower is mounted on a 16-foot single axle trailer and features a 20 kW diesel generator with a 110-gallon fuel tank.
The WCDE-20-50-5S-TLR14 fold-over five-stage telescoping Megatower® features a water-cooled diesel engine powering a 20 kW generator that supplies the current for operator-provided equipment. This unit allows operators to safely deploy lighting, cameras and other electrical equipment fast in places where equipment must be elevated to heights up to 50 feet. The mast is elevated via an included 2,500lb hand winch with 3/16 cable.
Larson Electronics’ Megatower® is made of square steel tubing with a base section measuring 11 feet long and 6” by 6” by 3/16” thick, a lower section measuring 11 feet long and 5” by 5” by 3/16” thick, a middle section measuring 12 feet long and 4” by 4” by 1/8” thick, an upper section measuring 11 feet long and 3” by 3” by 1/8” thick, and a top section measuring 13 feet long and 2” by 2” by 1/8” thick. Each section of the tower has a 15” to 18” overlap.
When the tower is lowered to 14 feet the mast can withstand winds up to 125 mph and can support and lift 150 lbs of fixtures and/or equipment. This unit features a specialized genset housing a Perkins diesel engine that powers the 20 kW 120/240V diesel generator that runs at 3,600 RPM. This unit is suitable for temporary lighting, construction sites, security camera deployment, and more.
