With a particular focus in litigation and licensing matters involving emerging technologies, music, motion pictures, sports, fashion and luxury goods, Lackman’s practice encompasses intellectual property, media and entertainment litigation, along with comprehensive trademark services in prosecution, counseling and enforcement. She is often called upon to draft amicus briefs in the most closely watched media and entertainment cases in the country, and her high-profile clients rely on her strategic approach for their cases and her depth of knowledge in the copyright and trademark fields.

“Eleanor’s track record of success in prominent and precedent-setting entertainment and IP litigation and licensing matters speaks for itself,” said Kevin Gaut, chairman of Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp. “She is a terrific addition to our litigation team and a perfect fit at MSK as we continue to invest in expanding our New York presence and bolstering our nationally known IP practice.”

Lackman’s intellectual property litigation practice, focused in New York and California, is well-respected by her peers and clients, which include Facebook, Bustle Digital Group and Cards Against Humanity. Among other rankings, Lackman has been named a Leading Lawyer in copyright and trademark law several years in a row by Chambers and Partners; among the top 100 lawyers in the New York metro area by Super Lawyers; one of the Notable Women in Law by Crain’s New York Business; and one of Hollywood’s New Leaders by Variety.

“MSK has a deep bench of experienced litigators and has long had a dominant presence in the media and entertainment industry,” said Lackman. “The firm consistently works on some of the most cutting-edge matters, and I am excited to join such an accomplished and creative team.”

Lackman is a trustee and past co-chair of the New York Chapter of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., serves on the Board of Advisors to the Fordham Center on Law and Information Policy, and is an active member of the International Amicus Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
