W. R. Berkley Corporation Appoints David J. LeBlanc President of Acadia Insurance

W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE: WRB) today announced the appointment of David J. LeBlanc as president of Acadia Insurance, a Berkley Company. He succeeds Douglas M. Nelson, who has been appointed chairman of Acadia Insurance. The appointments are effective immediately.

Mr. LeBlanc has over 35 years of experience in the property casualty insurance business. He joined Acadia in 2006 and most recently served as its chief operating officer and chief underwriting officer. Mr. LeBlanc holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

Mr. Nelson joined Acadia as president in 2011 and has been instrumental in advancing the operating unit’s leadership position in commercial lines insurance in the Northeast region. He will continue to support Mr. LeBlanc and the Acadia team throughout the transition. Over time, he will support other Berkley initiatives and activities.
