Packaging Distributors of America Cements Leadership Position in Industry With Opening of 24 New Logistics Centers in 2019

SARASOTA, Fla. - November 19, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

Packaging Distributors of America (PDA Chain) will close out 2019 on a high note, with the addition of 24 new sites to its network of 62 logistics centers this year alone. As a result, the organization has further cemented its leadership position in a competitive industry that requires continual innovation to meet an ever-increasing demand for speed, quality and environmental consciousness.

PDA Chain is a membership organization comprised of owner-operated facilities across North American with combined annual revenue of nearly $2 billion and more than 25 million square feet of combined distribution center floor space. According to George Strobel, president, PDA Chain, its mission is to enable ingenuity in packaging through shared best practices and developing new business for its membership as well as distributors, suppliers and customers.

The new logistics centers encompass both new sites by established PDA members along with new member sites, including:

·       Pacific Packaging: two new locations in Massachusetts and Florida

·       B2B Industrial Packaging: three new locations in California, Kansas and Washington

·       Morrisette Packaging: 12 locations across North America

·       Strickland Packaging: seven locations across North America

“The packaging engineers at PDA Chain develop custom and innovative packaging solutions, and value environmentally-responsible practices. Our members are each a leader in their own right and take great pride in helping turn inefficiencies and challenges in the packaging process into opportunities,” Strobel said. “And because each logistics location is owner-operated, it creates an unmatched national network of value and technology.”

PDA’s packaging logistics centers typically feature advanced automation techniques via robots and other tools and equipment to ensure maximum efficiencies. A combination of economic changes, environmental demands, and consumer behavior shifts all affect the packaging industry, and require pioneering practices best addressed through a partner approach, he added.

PDA likewise counts community service and environmental stewardship as central tenets of the organization to ensure that it is not only helping the industry succeed by improving the businesses that make up the industry but also supporting the places where each member business is located.
