The Idaho Coalition for Action on TRIA, a new coalition of statewide Idaho business leaders, are thanking Chairman Mike Crapo (R-ID) for his leadership and making the reauthorization of Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) a priority. Chairman Crapo, along with other members of the Senate Banking Committee last week introduced S. 2877, legislation that would reauthorize TRIA for seven years. TRIA is set to expire on December 31, 2020. Coalition Executive Director, Emily Baker, issued the following statement on behalf of the Coalition:
“We applaud Chairman Crapo and members of the Senate Banking Committee for introducing S. 2877. We urge Chairman Crapo and the members of the Committee to pass the bill, as introduced, and then for the full Senate to take up and pass the bill as quickly as possible.”

This is commonsense legislation – TRIA is a fiscally responsible program that enables businesses to purchase necessary terrorism insurance coverage. TRIA is essential to Idaho businesses of all sizes. In the event of a large terrorist attack, TRIA would provide critical economic protection for Idaho and the country at virtually no cost to taxpayers.
