Fed Beige Book reports ‘solid’ holiday sales and ‘modestly favorable’ expectations for 2020

U.S. economic activity continued to expand modestly over the last six weeks of 2019 while holiday sales were said to be ‘solid,’ according to the Federal Reserve’s latest Beige Book, released Wednesday.
