Snowline's Sunshine Letter Program Has One Purpose: To Help Spread Joy and Cheer in the Lives of Patients

DIAMOND SPRINGS, Calif. - May 6, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

The greater community can help seniors and patients in isolation due to the coronavirus by writing a letter today. Snowline Hospice has created a challenge: it wants to receive letters from all 50 states. Snowline has already received cards and letters from all over the state of California and beyond. The outpouring of support exemplifies the need for people to stay connected and band together, as a nation, for the common good. That is why the Snowline team created the all-50-state initiative. They are calling on people across America to join in and write. Snowline is asking the community to help spread some sunshine to their patients, families, and caregivers.

The benefit of receiving a tangible letter in the mail is one that Clinical Volunteer Coordinator Diane Wheeler knows well. Every week, Wheeler opens letters sent by the community and prepares them to be sent to patients. "One of the great joys of my week is opening the letters people have written to our patients - I get to see their animals, the gorgeous scenery in their parts of the country, and hear the encouragement and compassion they want to share with our Snowline family."

"From New York state to the island of Oahu, the response to our call for letters is a great example of how we are there for each other and we can make it through this time of uncertainty together," Wheeler said.

Snowline is asking the community to write a letter, tell their friends to join, and especially to reach out to those who live out of state to help Snowline achieve the goal of receiving letters from all 50 states. Please share on social media, call up an old friend or host a virtual letter-writing date with relatives.

Letters can be handwritten or typed. Address letters "Greetings to you."
