- The world's first 5G-based AI concert service Rima Public developed
- Pioneering the new entertainment service with the massive music content of 100,000 songs

LOS ANGELES, CA, November 10, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Emotionwave (CEO Jang Soon-cheol), a resident company in Digital Contents Center Growth Support Center (located in Pyeongchon, Anyang) operated by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Choi Ki-young) and National IT Industry Promotion Agency (Director Kim Chang-yong, NIPA) is contributing to relieving the stress coming from the COVID pandemic with Rima Public (https://rima.ai/public). Emotionwave developed the AI music technology for music concerts, performances, and education Rima, and it has been providing customized music concert Rima Public service to public and cultural space complex since June.

Unlike conventional concerts that perform at a specific place for the general audience, Rima Public lets the visitors enjoy the music by curating and playing instruments on its own regardless of the venue as long as unmanned instruments and performance systems can be used. Rima Public was created by combining AI technology and robotics control technology based on the data set created by learning the characteristics of music by genre and player using machine learning and deep learning technology. It can be applied to playing various musical instruments like piano, drum, guitar, bass, marimba, and percussion. Especially, by using XR (EXtended Reality) technology, visitors can increase their immersion in the field and enjoy rich sound. In addition to this, it is a band system that can perform ensembles, songs, and dance performances in real time by interlocking with the Rima Public Zone located afar.

Rima Public can play instruments according to the music repertoire, and even can provide the AI curation platform service that automatically plays the music when customers request music they want to listen to via their smartphones. CEO Jang Soon-cheol of Emotionwave said, "We are currently inputting approximately 100,000 songs, and if we include music that has not been registered in KOMCA or deleted from the records, it's 200,000 songs. We not only play the music based on this, but also provide the service that creates a data set that fits the creative direction and produces songs of a similar style."

The basis in which Rima Public can digest various genres of music is in the acquiring of well-organized music and sound information by genre, emotion, style, and instrument. Emotionwave possesses the technology to make algorithm by analyzing the speed and length of each music, genre, music code, and beat series and classifying them to combine them into melodies and rhythm patterns. Launched in June this year, Rima Public has been introduced to public institutions and companies nationwide such as Siheung Industrial Development Agency, K-Comwel, and K-Petro to open concerts. Rima Public is expanding its AI concert spectrum by successful development of the world's first AI-created Korean music performance Korean Music Mechatronica with the support from Siheung-si in addition to Jazz Mechatronica and Visual Mechatronica.

CEO Jang Soon-cheol said, "The Rima Public Concert was held as an offline performance in the traditional market in Changwon. It surpassed what was offered by the Rima Public's concert service and concert zone with the collaboration of singers and student dancers from Changwon and showed the possibility that it can be utilized in many areas." Jang then said, "I want to provide a music platform service that combines IT media and AI music technology. We applied our 5G Concert Zone to various fields such as ensemble, karaoke, live music broadcasting, and music education. Rima Public's next strategy is to create a new concept of entertainment space to become this creator."

Emotionwave is planning to launch MuLearn, a non-face-to-face education platform for teachers and students of national and public schools in Korea. About this, Jang quoted, "We will provide MuLearn to education institutions to help the music teachers and artists who are having a difficult time due to the COVID pandemic." His aspiration is to provide an immersive music education solution with AI music technology and robotics, and to create a music environment in which many people can participate in creation and cultural and artistic activities. The company is planning to use Rima Public AI concert platform to enter the North American market as well as the domestic market.
