Shincheonji Chairman Man Hee Lee, who first proposed the international online prayer meeting stated, "There are so many people suffering from COVID-19, especially in February when many people were infected in the church. The saints and citizens suffered a lot. We should actively pray to God for the end of COVID-19 for the sake of the country and the people."

So far over 1,700 members have donated plasma and 4,000 more are expected on November 16th in the next donation drive. A Shincheonji spokesperson said, "The intention is to pray together for rapid development of the treatment and the end of COVID-19 ahead of the third group plasma donation involving 4,000 cured saints. We will do everything we can with a responsible attitude until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Shincheonji church reported that it has not held any face-to-face service since February 18th, but they have been praying for the end of COVID-19, the safety of quarantine officials and medical staff, and the recovery of patients since the initial outbreak.
