Guardian Roofing Gives Local Garden A New Roof

Roof Restoration Brings Vibrance To Seattle Community Garden

SEATTLE, WA, November 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a time when filled with so much uncertainty and strife, acts of kindness and compassion stand out like rays of sunshine on a cloudy day.

No one understands this better than local Western Washington Contractor, Guardian Roofing and Pest Control. Originating from humble beginnings, Guardian grew in size and reputation due mainly to their willingness to work on projects other Roofers wouldn't touch. By focusing on repairing roofs rather than replacing them, countless homeowners have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars and earned peace of mind. Being dynamic and meeting the needs of their clients has become standard at Guardian.

While still navigating the major changes and hurdles brought on by 2020, the contractor made the time to come alongside a beloved local hideaway, the Eastlake P-Patch. Tucked away squarely in the heart of Seattle's bustling Eastlake and established in 1981 by 10 local families, the scenic community garden is filled with fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and a quirky personality. The property's only building is a quaint shed which houses member's personal equipment and some communal tools. The small tin roof atop the shed was rusted after 40 years of use and had begun to leak in certain places.

A long-standing member of the garden who had just had their roof replaced by Guardian took a chance and reached out to the internal office staff to see if anything could be done. Without hesitation, Guardian's founder and President Lori Swanson volunteered her services and arranged a time to go estimate the project herself. On a warm summer day in Eastlake, Lori met with three founding members of the community garden and learned about its rich history while strolling through raised beds filled with roses, sunflowers, poppies, and an assortment of vegetables. In true Guardian form, Lori agreed to replace the shed's roof free of charge and in late August, the tin roof was replaced with a sturdy plastic which allowed light into the shed. The Eastlake P-Patch community was wildly grateful and letter after letter poured into the Roofer's Auburn Office, thanking the team for their act of service.

Giving back has been a long standing tradition for the Contractor. In 2018 Guardian started the Halo Project, a philanthropic project gifting one Homeowner in need either a major roof repair or total replacement. This year under the Halo Project, the Guardian team (along with help from friends and the local community) gathered together to help not one but two homeowners in need of total roof replacements.

Always happy to be of service, Guardian Roofing is excited for the P-Patch's future and they hope to receive a basket of locally grown vegetables in the future! To learn more about the Company's passion for community and philanthropy, check out the Guardian Halo Project!
