Escondido AC Repair Company, Excel Air Corp., Celebrates 23 Years of Excellence

By: Get News

For 23 years, Excel Air Corp. has been the leading Escondido AC Repair company and serves thousands of customers all throughout San Diego County. With the season for soaring California temperatures upon us, we caught up with CEO, Alex Kuhtarev, to find out what people should know about their AC Systems to get the most bang for their buck. We asked him if it’s worth it to repair an ac unit and when is it better for the unit to be replaced. He shared with us what his HVAC technicians tell their Excel Air Corp. customers.

“It is a significant investment to install a new, quality air conditioning system. If your current unit isn’t performing well, and you don’t have the resources to buy a new one, it may be more cost-effective to have it repaired”, says Kuhtarev.

According to Kuhtarev, “Energy Star, led by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, recommends that you AC unit be replaced every 10 to 15 years. It may not be cost-effective to repair an eighty-five-year-old AC unit. Unless it only needs a simple replacement part such as a condenser unit or something easy like a fan belt, it’s usually less expensive in the long run to replace the unit altogether.

You’ll want to consider your lifestyle and the location of your home, as these factors can affect the 10 to15 year life expectancy. Temperatures on the water differ from those further inland. This is something to think about when your AC is out of commission. If the unit is 10 years old or older, it may be time for an upgrade.

It can be a nightmare when your air conditioner is on the fritz, especially during the summer heat in sunny California. Some signs you may need professional repair are unusual smells or noises when the unit is turned on, performance decline or unexpected high utility bills, warm or diminishing airflow, excessive moisture on or around the unit, or if you notice your breakers are tripping often.”
