Kyros, Recovery Industry Technology Platform, Rolls out Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Services in Minnesota

By: Issuewire

MAT services expand Kyros’ portfolio of recovery service offerings to clients.

New York City, New York Nov 15, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Kyros, the Minnesota-based recovery industry technology platform, announced today it is now offering Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to patients experiencing Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). MAT is the latest addition to the service lines offered through Kyros, empowering clients to access individualized treatment plans. Kyros' recovery management technology platform coalesces each clients' providers, counselors, support organizations, and now, if needed, MAT, resulting in an individualized recovery treatment plan for every client.

Since launching in 2021, the company has focused on removing barriers to Substance Use Disorder treatment, primarily through connecting patients with Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) who serve as their mentors and advocates. However, like any chronic disease, recovery requires a holistic approach uniquely tailored to the individual and consisting of treatments across the continuum of care. For many, this includes medications that alleviate withdrawal symptoms and ease cravings.

"We believe in meeting folks where they are in their journey and ensuring they have access to all the tools and treatments necessary for both harm reduction and long-term recovery," says Founder and CEO Daniel Larson. "So many communities have been decimated by OUD in the past decade that we are committed to increasing access to all evidence-based treatments that have proven effective, including MAT". As the opioid epidemic continues to rage across the country, approximately 95% of those afflicted with OUD are unable to access MAT due to the predominance of the abstinence-based treatment model.

"Patients I have treated, who are candidates for medication-assisted treatment, have a strong desire to stop taking opioids, but they also have intense cravings and a fear of withdrawal," says Mara Glantz, VP of Clinical Operations at Kyros. "Partnering with these patients means reducing their harm from ongoing opioid use immediately. MAT allows them to live their lives without mental and physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings. When a patient is engaged in their own personalized treatment plan and shares in the decision-making, not only is their quality of life improved, but their positive outcomes reverberate to their families and to their communities", she adds.

Kyros' success as a digital solution for the recovery space is reflected in the double-digit growth it experienced since launching 18 months ago. This month the company will begin offering services in two new states and plans on being in 10 states by the end of 2023.
