Firouzbakht Law Firm representing 2 more shooting victims at Riverstation Apartments

Firouzbakht Law Firm has filed a third lawsuit against the owners and operators of Riverstation Apartments following a July 2023 shooting in which two men were seriously injured.

“This pattern is the result when apartment complexes allow violent criminal activity to flourish unchecked,” said attorney Eric Firouzbakht. “The owners and managers of this complex have known for years that their property is a magnet for violent crime, yet they continue to do nothing. We are seeing the same story play out again and again. Only the victims' names are changing.”

The lawsuit, filed in Dallas County, details that two individuals were shot by unknown gunmen on July 13, 2023, while simply walking through or returning to the property. One was struck in the upper leg, causing permanent nerve damage. The other victim was shot in the ankle while returning home to his grandmother’s apartment after a trip to the store.

The complaint says both men were shot by the same unidentified gunmen who were lying in wait behind the complex dumpsters and firing indiscriminately.

This latest case follows two other lawsuits filed by Firouzbakht Law Firm in 2024, including one on behalf of 20-year-old Darius Young, who was murdered during a robbery in the Riverstation parking lot while trying to sell his PlayStation, and another involving two minor children who were shot while playing outside.

The latest complaint outlines ongoing failures, including unsecured entry points, lack of patrols, minimal or non-functional security cameras and ignoring crime prevention guidance from local officials. The lawsuit alleges property owners failed to implement even the most basic security measures despite a well-documented history of violent crime at the location.

The new case is Antierias West and Corey Lynch v. Dallas Leased Housing Associates XI LLLP, Dominium Management Services LLC, et al. cause no. DC-25-10949 in Dallas County.
