Since its inception in 1947, Toys for Tots has been dedicated to delivering joy and support to children in need during Christmastime—but the Program recognizes that needs aren’t seasonal and their commitment extends beyond the holiday season, with several programs that operate throughout the year.
"The Marine Toys for Tots Program has distributed 708 million toys, books, and other gifts to 314 million deserving children," said LtGen Jim Laster, President and CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. "That is the power of our year-round programs and the impact of our supporters—we can support millions more children in need each year and deliver hope to the hearts of children who so desperately need a reason to believe in a brighter future," added LtGen Jim Laster.
• Recognizing the importance of education, Toys for Tots' Literacy Program distributes educational resources and books to children living in low-income communities, providing them with the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond.
• The organization’s Disaster Response and Recovery Program provides toys, books, and other resources to the children of displaced families after natural disasters once the necessities have been delivered, transforming despair into hope.
• Toys for Tots' Foster Care Program provides essential resources to help foster children navigate extremely stressful and challenging times, aiming to reduce their anxiety and make a positive impact on their lives.
• The core Program of Toys for Tots is their annual Holiday Program, and its mission is to collect toys, books, and other gifts and distribute them to disadvantaged children at Christmastime. The Holiday Program also supports the Native American Program—providing gifts to Native American children living on remote Reservations in areas that do not have a Toys for Tots campaign.
