Mission Connection Healthcare (866-770-8515) has expanded its outpatient mental health services at its Arlington location and is offering more options for in-person and online treatments.

-- Acknowledging that many mental health patients often are unaware of the options available to them, Mission Connection has expanded its capacity to offer both in-person and online treatments, ensuring therapy remains accessible regardless of the patient’s location or schedule. Individuals struggling with primary mental health diagnoses, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma disorders, and schizophrenia, are encouraged to contact the provider’s admissions team to learn more about the enrollment process.

In 2024, 23.4% of U.S. adults, equivalent to 61.5 million people, experienced at least one mental health disorder, with 5.6% of adults suffering from a serious mental illness, according to SAMHSA data. Major depressive disorders and anxiety disorders remain the most prevalent mental conditions, but PTSD and bipolar disorder also affect a significant number of people.
According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), individuals with mental illnesses are up to twice as likely to develop a cardiometabolic disease compared to individuals without mental illnesses, highlighting it as a considerable public health concern. However, a study jointly conducted by the UBC Faculty of Medicine and Harvard Medical School found that only 46.5% of people who met the criteria for a disorder recognized their need for treatment; 82.9% of these individuals received minimally adequate treatment, 47% of whom were treated effectively, but due to attrition throughout the treatment period, only 6.9% of the entire study group actually received effective care for their condition.
Mission Connection recognizes that lack of knowledge, scheduling constraints, and geographic location may make treatment difficult to access for some. To encourage program completion, the mental health center offers the option of both in-person and online outpatient treatment programs, allowing for daily support if needed. Intensive outpatient programs and partial hospitalization programs may also be recommended, depending on the severity of the individual’s condition.
To treat mental illnesses, Mission Connection integrates evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy with physical wellness strategies and mindfulness practices to equip patients with the skills to continue their healing between sessions. The mental health center can also provide more specialized therapies, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for treatment-resistant depression.
