Intern Pursuit, an intelligent intern management platform for employers, won a $5,000 grant from the City of Orlando and Orlando's Technology Community Support Program, facilitated by the Orlando Economic Partnership.

ORLANDO, Fla. & NEW YORK - May 7, 2021 - PRLog -- Intern Pursuit won a grant from the City of Orlando and Orlando's Technology Community Support Program, which is facilitated by the Orlando Economic Partnership. To reach this goal, organizations go through a rigorous application process, where a panel of judges across the technology industry select the recipients based on the fulfillment of specific criteria. Some of the aspects considered were the effectiveness of their marketing strategies, the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, amongst others.

Intern Pursuit (IP) was one of the six winners announced on March 5, 2021 on the Orlando Economic Partnership's website. IP was awarded $5,000 to prepare a study on skills-based hiring and skill development. This high impact study will provide the insight needed to align skills-based hiring practices with employers that need faster and better methods of identifying the best candidates for internships. The IP platform provides employers with the most effective learning experience delivering what you need, when you need it.

Earlier this year, the startup joined Orlando Economic Partnership's Tech Council. Isabella Johnston, founder and CEO of Intern Pursuit, said, "The skills of the future are highly desirable and expected to increase in demand for the future of work. Our platform and academy are designed to provide employees and interns the opportunity to mutually develop skills and upskill key Power Skills such as Cognitive Flexibility, Collaboration, Communication, Complex Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Service Orientation, Emotional Intelligence, Initiative, and Negotiation."

Intern Pursuit Software Platform was founded in 2018 by Isabella Johnston, a serial entrepreneur with 20+ years of experience in human resource development and education. The IP platform solves HR issues from recruitment to transition for employers to improve the candidate selection process while increasing diversity and inclusion. The platform is powered by a smart machine learning (AI) algorithm that identifies the best candidates for employers based on trending HR Power Skills and job preferences while improving skill development on multiple levels.

The Orlando Tech Community Support Grant Program aims to expand the City of Orlando's continued commitment to create an environment for entrepreneurship as a critical component of the region's innovation ecosystem. There are four key goals for the program: 1) Help increase the connection and collaboration among start-up and existing tech companies, 2) Build the tech talent pipeline, 3) Catalyze private capital investments, and 4) Increase Orlando's reputation as a tech hub.  The grant program provides matching grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 from a total pool of $65,000 to help organizations and companies develop tech focused activities and programs that will unite the tech workforce and community.
