Rhode Island - While there may be a multitude of generic jewelry in the marketplace, there is a scant amount of original jewelry that captures the spirit of cycling. That is until now… Studio 51, a small startup run by a team of passionate cyclists is crafting cycling inspired charms and pendants from recycled materials. All collections are “Made with watts & passion in Rhode Island USA” - which is their claim - in brass, stainless steel, silver, gold, and Acetate Italia®. All items are nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and powered by lucky number 51.
Items made to be worn on and off the bicycle, to bring good luck and provide good looks. For self-purchase or unique gift for cyclists on all levels and of all ages, including kids who ride their bikes to school, or the rising number of commuters on bikes.
Over recent years, fashion has entered cycling culture with brands like Rapha or Pas Normal Studios targeting design-minded cyclists with innovative collections at premium pricing. Looking into fashion jewelry the men’s segment has seen the biggest growth over the past years. At the same time, women have discovered cycling as new trend sport, are joining racing teams and creating popular content on Instagram. Note that there is no dedicated cycling centric fashion jewelry brand today that caters to those audiences and captures the spirit and potential of this booming market.
About The Brand:
In numerology, 51 symbolizes leadership, courage, and strength. In cycling, dossard number 51 built a legendary reputation as a good luck charm for many Tour de France winners. When looking for a brand name, they felt it was a meaningful story to tell plus adding the term Studio given the small-scale artisan handmade set-up, Studio 51 was born. Taking that spiritual power of number 51, a tiny 51 icon is embossed on the back of all items for authenticity and good luck.
The brand will launch its online and Instagram shop in June 2023, and plans to build distribution via high end cycling retailers in the US and key European markets. They will start with three collections Peloton, Rouleur and Flahute - named after famous cycling terms - covering a spectrum of different designs, finishes, and price points. They also plan to work with bicycle manufacturers to capsule collections made from recycled bicycle parts. 5.1% of all their profits are donated to nonprofit cycling organizations.
About The Founder:
Oliver Bootmann spent over 15 years as a creative brand executive in the jewelry and accessories industry in Europe and USA, before working as a freelance consultant. During a recent interview, Oliver made these comments, “I was playing with the idea of cycling inspired jewelry for a while looking at myself and other riders wearing necklaces that had nothing to do with the lifestyle we love so much. After my last consulting gig in Copenhagen, I finally decided to start the business together with a few fellow riders and creative minds based in USA, UK, and Germany”.
He goes on to say, “We bring together cycling + fashion + jewelry in a truly novel, not seen before way that speaks to riders and cyclists on all levels, who may just seek a cool fashion statement, a meaningful talisman, or a visible motivator. Cycling is more than a hobby, way of transportation or a sport, it’s a lifestyle. It’s time to give cyclists their own way to express themselves by means of jewelry, it’s time for Studio 51 to hit the tarmac.”
About The Kickstarter Campaign:
Studio 51 is seeking support from the cycling and fashionista community with a dedicated Kickstarter campaign to fund the launch of the brand, new product development as well as more tooling and engraving machinery to offer truly customized memorabilia.

Different levels of pledging are available, from discounted items to limited-edition charms and keychains exclusively made for supporters, with high collectable value.
