By: PRLog

NEW YORK - March 2, 2024 - PRLog -- In celebration of Women's History Month the second installment of the Award-winning and bestselling book series Women Behind The Mic is released today with Volume Two "The Hip-Hop Edition". It contains the stories of 21 veteran executives who were the engines behind the most iconic artists and brands of all time. As the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop is being celebrated, the women who worked behind the scenes have been glaringly absent. These women quietly toiled in the trenches and have curated what is known as Pop Culture.

LaJoyce Brookshire (formerly of Arista Records) and Michelle Joyce (formerly of Bad Boy Records) are Co-Creators of the Movement/Book/Lecture/Documentary Series Women Behind The Mic™. Together they have written a Curriculum for students to learn about careers in the Entertainment Industry. Volume One "Word To The Wise won the 2023 African American Literary Award for "Best Anthology".

Michelle states, "Today, the "Sheroes" who championed The Culture of a genre no one expected to last -so much so- that Hip-Hop is now classified as the most-listened-to-genre globally!"

LaJoyce continues, "The book is a collective of conversations, personal stories, and photographs with the History makers of the Music Industry. Together we not only developed and made stars, but our joint efforts have led to the sale of Trillions of records world-wide!"
