Marquis Who's Who Honors George Youssef for Expertise in Federal Infrastructure and Trade School Advancement

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 23, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors George Youssef for his expertise in federal infrastructure and trade school advancement. As chief operating officer of J & J Mechanical and Construction Group since 2001, Mr. Youssef has transformed the company into one of the largest federal contractors in the tristate area. His goal is to educate others regarding trade schools as a good path to success for the next generation. He believes that, given the quick pace of change in the job market, the country desperately needs more skilled technicians.

Championing Trade Education for the Next Generation
Mr. Youssef shares his perspective by saying, "Everybody wants to have a bachelor's degree and that's not necessarily the way to go. I think that, after high school, kids should consider trade school more than pursuing a bachelor's degree, because we're suffering. We don't have enough technical people to do this type of work… everybody wants to sit behind a desk or work remotely. With the advent of AI, many of these jobs are likely to disappear. But people still need their plumbing to be done, their HVAC units to be installed and fixed. That's where the new generations need to really go back and think, ‘Do I want to have a bachelor's degree and sit home and live in my mom and dad's basement or go to trade school after high school and earn my living?'"

Leading Innovation and Technological Advancement
As a master plumber and a master HVAC licensee, Mr. Youssef has witnessed significant changes in his industry over the past few years. What was once considered manual labor is now an extremely technical field. "Huge changes are happening in the plumbing and HVAC industry," he explains. "Today, you have to be technology savvy because everything is with computer chips. To do a diagnostic in a unit, you actually have to have a laptop to plug it into…"

Mr. Youssef emphasizes the importance of specialized training and continuous learning in the trades. "Today, if you're not educated and computer savvy, you can't be an HVAC technician."

Under Mr. Youssef's leadership, J & J Mechanical and Construction Group has established itself as a premier federal contractor specializing in commercial projects for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of Defense and the General Services Administration. With more than 24 years in his current profession, Mr. Youssef believes his success stems from truly loving what he does and he wants young people to understand this concept. "Don't work to make money. Work because you love what you do, and when you excel at what you do, money is a byproduct of that passion," he said.

Commitment to Veterans and Future Growth
Mr. Youssef's philosophy also drives his passion for helping others, especially veterans. For the past 15 years, his company has focused on making sure that veteran hospitals are comfortable, a mission that holds great personal significance for him. Mr. Youssef attributes his success to his passion for helping others and his commitment to ensuring that veterans receive the care they need in pleasant environments.

Looking ahead, Mr. Youssef plans to expand J & J Mechanical and Construction Group, diversifying the company's operations and working as a general contractor. He's also preparing the company for future generations of his family. An active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and a volunteer with SCORE and local churches, his journey demonstrates what you can achieve with dedication, flexibility and a strong belief in the value of skilled trades.
