75 Students Awarded $150,000 in Scholarships from A+ Federal Credit Union

Texas High School and College Students Earn Funds for 2024-25 School Year

The A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) Board of Directors awarded 75 Texas high school and college students with $150,000 in scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year. The annual amount awarded was increased this year in recognition of the credit union’s 75th Anniversary, allowing 15 additional students to earn scholarships from A+FCU. Each student receives $2,000 to help with college educational expenses.

Awarding scholarships has been a long-standing A+FCU tradition, benefiting more than 600 students with over $1.1 Million in scholarship support for their college endeavors.

"With the generous support A+FCU has received from our community over the last 75 years, and in honor of our 75th anniversary in 2024, it’s our great privilege to award $150,000 in scholarships to 75 well-deserving students!” Terry Lord, A+FCU Board Member and Scholarship Committee Chair, said. “From their high achievements to engaged community service, this year's recipients have demonstrated their tenacity, and we wish them the best in their endeavors."

Recipients were selected for their academic achievements and community involvement and represent 10 universities, 33 high schools, and 1 homeschool certification.

“I can't say enough about the impact this A+FCU scholarship has had on my ability to achieve my graduate degree. I am so very grateful,” Michelle LeBlanc, Texas State University student studying for her M.Ed. Specializing in Reading, said. “A+FCU has always been amazing to work with. For them to support me achieving my dreams in this way says so much about their commitment to the community!”
