Hubspace 2.0 also introduces advanced wellness lighting and a dynamic vacation mode—all built on Afero’s foundation of enterprise-grade security.

Key features of Hubspace 2.0 include:

• Hubspace Connect: A breakthrough capability that decouples physical wiring from digital control, allowing users to use switches and dimmers powered by Hubspace to control any Hubspace-enabled light. For example, users can link a “powered by Hubspace” switch in the hallway to control lights in the kitchen, living room, or bedroom, creating virtual 3-way switches or whole-home scenes without the need for complex electrical work. For “powered by Hubspace” products on the same circuit, Hubspace Connect solves the “Smart Bulb, Dumb Switch” conflict. It maintains power to the fixture to keep it online for voice and app control, while using the wall switch to send digital commands for on/off and dimming functions.
• Professional-Grade Lighting Features: Hubspace 2.0 introduces three key enhancements to lighting quality and control.
  • Circadian Lighting automatically adjusts the Correlated Color Temperature of the light throughout the day to align with the user’s internal biological clock.
  • Warm Dimming causes white light to become warmer in tone as the brightness is reduced, mimicking the beloved characteristics of incandescent lighting.
  • Logarithmic Brightness Control ensures smoother, more natural-feeling dimming that more accurately matches human visual perception.
• Vacation Mode: Hubspace 2.0 introduces a dynamic Vacation Mode designed to give the realistic appearance of presence in the home for enhanced home security. Unlike static timers, this feature will turn lights and smart plugs on and off at random intervals every hour. Users can choose to synchronize specific products (such as all kitchen lights), turn all products on and off together, or randomize them independently. The Vacation Mode UI also supports products with pre-configured settings, such as thermostats and deadbolts.
