Honorees celebrated for shaping the rule of law
All three Johnston Tobey Baruch shareholders are repeat honorees in the 2026 edition of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Litigators in America, a legal guide spotlighting the nation’s most accomplished litigators.
Randy Johnston, Robert Tobey and Chad Baruch received nods for their excellence in commercial litigation.

Mr. Tobey, former president of the Dallas Bar Association, is board certified in consumer and commercial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has been honored by The Best Lawyers in America for his work in legal malpractice and professional malpractice law and by Martindale Hubbell and Texas Super Lawyers.
Mr. Baruch, former chair of the Texas Bar Association’s Board of Directors, is board certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He gained national acclaim in 2024 for what is known as the “Hip Hop Brief,” which summarized the history of rap music in a First Amendment case and has been cited in other related cases.
