Vejle, Denmark - October 22, 2025 - The Indian Association of Denmark (IAD) recently hosted a spectacular Diwali celebration, marking a significant milestone in its journey. This year's event was not only a celebration of the Festival of Lights but also commemorated the 10th anniversary of IAD's official establishment and the 11th year of hosting the Diwali event.

From dazzling performances that lit up the stage to sumptuous food that brought everyone together, the night was filled with color, joy, and the true spirit of Diwali. The event has grown to become the largest Diwali fest in Jutland and Fyn region of Denmark, attracting participants from the Indian diaspora, local Danish, and international communities.
"A decade ago, with just a handful of volunteers and a shared dream, we set out to create IAD—a welcoming home for the Indian community, a bridge to our Danish friends, and an open door to all international residents," said Hemanth Kumar Kuna, Founder & President of IAD. "Our mission is to create positive relations and better cultural awareness between Indians, Danish, and international expats in the heart of Denmark."
Over the years, IAD has blossomed into a vibrant community. The annual Festival of Lights is a testament to the shared values of togetherness, happiness, and unity. Beyond Diwali, IAD hosts numerous events throughout the year, including the Holi Festival of Colors, Ganesh Festival, and various cultural workshops, music and dance performances, and sports activities.
The association takes pride in supporting newcomers, offering integration guidance, and building a network of friendship for those far from home. The success of these events is attributed to the unwavering support of volunteers, partners, and sponsors, including the Indian Embassy and Vejle Kommune.
As IAD enters its second decade, it aims to champion inclusion, create more opportunities for collaboration, and preserve its heritage while celebrating diversity. The introduction of a new logo symbolizes this new era, maintaining the same core values that have guided the association since its inception.
A special thank you goes to all the amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly to set everything up and stayed back to wrap things up. Their dedication and teamwork made the celebration shine even brighter.
Indian Association of Denmark invites everyone, regardless of origin or duration of stay in Denmark, to become part of the IAD family. The association looks forward to welcoming participants to future events, promising more smiles, laughter, and festive cheer.
