David M. Perkins Talks Life Challenges & Lessons In New Satirical Memoir

Author David M. Perkins announced the launch of his new book “on LIFE: Rants, Tributes and Lessons Learned in No Particular Order”, a collection of essays he has written over the last 30 to 40 years.

In his new book, David M. Perkins shares several personal anecdotes meant to inspire readers, challenge their perspectives, and entertain them. Many of the pieces in the book are influenced by Perkins’s time spent as a telecine colorist in the motion picture and television industry.

Perkins decided to publish “on LIFE: Rants, Tributes and Lessons Learned in No Particular Order” as a response to friends and family constantly asking him for physical copies of his written work. He also wanted to leave behind something for his son, Austin, with whom he has a close relationship.

“I tried to gather as much material as I could find, which turned out to be harder than I imagined, given decades of computer updates and software changes,” explained Perkins. “But I had also promised my son that I would try to leave the paper trail that I wish I had had from my own father. With this book, I have pieced together at least a short trail for him.”

Most of the stories in “on LIFE: Rants, Tributes and Lessons Learned in No Particular Order” are infused with Perkins’s trademark humor and satire. Throughout the book, he also takes up several different controversial and contrarian stances. While he doesn’t expect all readers to agree with his viewpoints, he does hope that they will at the least reevaluate their opinions and beliefs.

“’on LIFE’ is not a conventional book with a prescribed path or a singular narrative arc,” said one reader. “It is a tapestry of thoughts and experiences, a literary journey that mirrors the unpredictability and spontaneity of life itself. Perkins's invitation to readers to engage with the collection on their own terms, to agree or disagree, adds an empowering dimension, making the book not just a monologue but a dialogue with its audience.”

“on LIFE: Rants, Tributes and Lessons Learned in No Particular Order” is available for purchase on Amazon in paperback, hardcover, and digital formats. It is intended for readers 12 years of age and older.
