Cloud computing and online retail behemoth Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) will be announcing earnings results this Thursday afternoon. Here’s what investors should know.

Amazon beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 1.2% last quarter, reporting revenues of $180.2 billion, up 13.4% year on year. It was a strong quarter for the company, with an impressive beat of analysts’ EPS estimates and a narrow beat of analysts’ revenue estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Amazon’s revenue to grow 12.7% year on year to $211.6 billion, improving from the 10.5% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $1.95 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Amazon has only missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates once over the last two years, exceeding top-line expectations by 1.1% on average.
