Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles Welcomes Six New Members to Board of Directors as Nonprofit Poised to Grant 10,000th Wish

As Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles undertakes plans to grant its 10,000th wish in the city, the nonprofit organization has appointed six new members to its Board of Directors. With a mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles has been granting wishes in LA County since 1983. New board members include:

  • Leah Abikzer, Division Manager of Media & Entertainment, ActOne Entertainment, Inc.
  • Ronit Cohn, Vice President, Fullscreen
  • Ted Fentin, Managing Director, AECOM Capital
  • Perry Hollowell, Portfolio Manager, Guggenheim Partners
  • Yoshi Maruyama, Chairman, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment
  • Natalie Vonderburg, Producer/Project Manager, Sunday Visitor

“Adding visionary leaders in the Los Angeles community to our Board of Directors is critical in helping Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles reach our mission of granting life-changing wishes for all eligible children,” said Bo Pearl, Board Chair, Make-A-Wish Greater LA. “I look forward to working with Leah, Ronit, Ted, Perry, Yoshi and Natalie to drive the next stage of growth at the organization and fuel recovery for the children who need it most.”

Although there is a common misconception that Make-A-Wish only serves terminally ill children, most wish recipients go on to live healthy lives into adulthood, citing their wish experience as a turning point in their recovery. There are currently hundreds of children in Los Angeles awaiting their wishes. Make-A-Wish Greater LA will raise critical funds to reach these children at its annual Walk for Wishes at the Los Angeles Coliseum on April 6.
