A: It is great honour to share this highly coveted award with our talented team, who are committed to giving our patients the best patient experience possible. Winning the award helps motivate us to continue to strive for excellence in every aspect of our business.

Q: Does your company use social media? If so, how had it changed your business?

A: Our patients all use some form of social media, so it is a highly effective way for us to reach out with paperless, informative, fun and visual information. It is a phenomenal way for us to interact with our patients, give them a platform to reach us, and exchange information on a 24/7 basis. Social media has brought us to a new level of patient care.

Q: How do you keep up with the trends in your industry?

A: We are two Orthodontists with an incredible, talented team, who keep up with what is current in our industry. We travel far and wide to meet with other specialists, to get the most current and up to date technology that we can immediately make accessible to our patients right here in our community.

Q: What is the next priority for your business?

A: Our next priority is to expand our business model, thus enabling us to give every Nova Scotian a chance to have access to an affordable, beautiful and healthy smile.

Q: What makes your business unique in the market?

A: What makes us unique is that we live and work and support our communities of Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville, Bedford and surrounding areas. Annually we partner with another local business to organize a Learn to Give event for CE points for professionals, and donate all the proceeds to a charity. In the last 3 years, we have donated over $90,000 to Kid's Help Phone, Children's Make-A-Wish and Phoenix House.

Q: What makes you/your company successful?

A: Our attention to detail in every aspect of our business and our commitment to the best patient care possible have helped us achieve success. The strong foundation of a skilled and dedicated team, word of mouth about our clinic and a loyal community have been the pillars of our success.

Q: What makes your business unique in the market?

A: One of the things that make us unique is that we use our own patients for pictures in our ads. We have such beautiful smiles and personalities within our practice, that we love to feature them instead of stock photos!

Q: What resource would you recommend to gain insight into your industry-business?

A: People are a tremendous resource. It has become easy to seek further education, make connections and not be afraid to reach out to the valuable resources around the world that we have quite literally at our fingertips.

What gets you out of bed every day?...For both of us, the benefits of orthodontic treatment often go beyond the obvious physical changes of an improved bite and straighter teeth; it's also a great way to improve a person's overall self-image. We see it time and again, and the joy that that brings to the whole team is immeasurable.

What hobby would you get into if time and money were not an issue?...Behind the scenes we are multi talented musicians and performers! Dr. Dan Stuart would be found as a lead guitarist in a band and Dr. Sarah Davidson would be found on stage performing musical theatre!

What is the best compliment you've received?...Both of us agree that the reaction we get when our patient first looks in the mirror after they have had their braces removed is the best compliment ever.

Are you or your company involved in your community?(charity, fundraising, etc.)...We have formed a partnership with another local business to co sponsor a Learn to Event where professionals get CE points for attending our course.
