COVID-19 Vaccine Now Available To Priority Management Residents and Staff in Texas

Priority Management announces that the COVID-19 vaccine is now available to all their facility residents and staff members. All residents, employees, and anyone being treated at the facilities are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated and can be vaccinated at the facility by the medical staff. COVID-19 remains a serious health threat to all and particularly those who live and work in skilled nursing facilities. The vaccine has arrived at most Priority Management facilities. Those who were vaccinated in January will get a second dose next week.

The Texas Department of Health has convened a COVID-19 Expert Vaccine Allocation Panel to recommend strategies for the distribution of the vaccine across the state geographically. Health care personnel and long-term care facility residents have been designated among the very first group to have access to the vaccine because of the elevated level of risk they face from the virus.

The vaccines have proven to be better than 94% effective at preventing COVID-19 in clinical trials. As with any vaccine, there is a low risk of side effects with the most common being injection site tenderness, fatigue, headache, and muscle pain. Severe reactions to the injection are uncommon. You cannot get COVID-19 from the vaccine.

The Priority Management executive team was among the first in their organization to be vaccinated. Doug Boulware, William Bauder, and Steven Boulware received initial injections in early January without incident or problem.

“I was eager to be vaccinated and do my part in taking the first step towards ending the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Doug Boulware, president of Priority Management Group. “It is my sincere hope that every resident and staff member will choose to be vaccinated. This is the best and quickest way to bring about an end to the pandemic and ensure greater safety for everyone.”
