The anticipation was palpable in a full Memorial Hall on Sunday afternoon, even before the French pianist Alexandre Kantorow took the stage. Clearly, the word had gotten out that the 25-year-old pianist, winner of the Gold Medal in the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, would be making his Cincinnati recital debut.
