Director Dindu Is Making Music Videos From An African Perspective

Nigerian director and artist, Adindu Collins, popularly known as Dindu, is making a mark on the creative industry through his multi-hyphenate lens. He Originated from delta state, Born in Benin city Nigeria's south-south region, Director Dindu has created high-quality visuals for music artists such as DJ Neptune, Joeboy, Focalistic, Victor AD, Babyboyav, Davido, burnaboy and more. He believes his work is created "to empower other creatives and spotlight the complex identities in music and Films through his production house, CINEMA HOUSE. And ALIEN ALLIANCE PRODUCTIONS.

Through his creative production agency, Cinema House, Director Dindu explores folklore, aphorisms, and local stories to create his films. "We consciously put out African culture to the world via these music videos," And films he said, "because I think that's the best way we can actually sell our culture, especially in this dispensation where the African entertainment Industry is going worldwide."

Dindu considers himself an "Afrocentric creative " and wants to use his films to show Africans and the world their capabilities and boundless creativity. He hopes more creatives will put African stories at the top of their priorities when making art and recognises the power of imagery in positive representations of black people in media.

Dindu's success has not stopped him from giving back to the community that inspired his creative journey. Through mentorship programs and internships, he and his team are actively training young directors by impacting them with practical tools and offering them platforms to tell their stories. Director Dindu hopes to replicate his success in other young directors and build the next generation of African storytellers with a global voice.

Dindu's work is a testament to the ingenuity of the Nigerian creative industry, which is largely unstructured and receives little to no support from the Nigerian authorities. Despite the challenges, the Nigerian music industry is enjoying unprecedented success across the world, with stars such as BurnaBoy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Wizkid topping international music charts and filling stadiums to maximum capacity. A 2022 insight report by a business publication, Sears, adjudged the Nigerian Music industry as the second best-performing Entertainment and Media consumer market in the world, with major labels including Sony Music, Universal, EMI, and many other music platforms setting up local subdivisions on the continent.

Dindu's work is a celebration of African creativity and cultural diversity, and his films showcase the best of African music, culture, and stories.
